This cute solid wood shabby chic shelf was a find for my client's little girl's room to match the antique high boy dresser, antique bed frame and antique french provincial side table.  I painted and distressed it, and added glass knobs to match those on the dresser and side table.  Keep your eyes peeled for more cute shelving to come...lots of fun ideas brewing.

This is the final of the projects I recently completed for my mom.  This little cabinet with it's glass door is a piece she's owned for years, but her style has moved away from it's previous white-washed blond wood finish.  I refinished this cute rustic piece in the same black finish as the other pieces.

This is the second of 3 projects I recently completed for my mom.  She purchased this second-hand side table at the same time as her double headboard and foot board (previous post).  I refinished this uniquely detailed piece to match the headboard for her guest bedroom.  The piece use to be finished in a dark and dated stain and had older fashioned pulls on the drawers which I replaced with a single classic knob in a weathered nickel finish.  Unfortunately I forgot to take a before shot!

black antique bed frame

I packed up my supplies and equipment and headed to Victoria for a week in October to complete this project for my dear mom!  She found this double headboard and foot board for her guest bedroom.  I refinished this antique piece for her in black, without any distressing, and protected it with my usual water-based satin finish varnish.  

As it turns out, she might only be using the headboard so stay tuned for the foot board to possibly be up for sale as a headboard!

apple red rustic lowboy

This uber distressed solid wood farmhouse lowboy dresser was a custom find for my client and was refinished in her fantastic choice of finish!  I removed the casters and back splash and left on the original wooden knobs.  The dresser was painted red over black, heavily distressed to reveal the layered paint and natural wood, and finished with a water-based varnish.  

It was a ton of fun transforming this icky forest green folk look into a yummy rustic farm apple red.  What a striking piece for my client Deb's entry way!

farmhouse deco dresser

I found this large solid wood five-drawer dresser and refinished it to go with the Farmhouse Paneled Bed Frame (previous post) for little Markus's bedroom.  The dresser was missing it's back so I purchased a half sheet of 1/8" Mahogany plywood and secured it to the back using finishing nails.  I switched out the old pulls for new round black metal knobs.  The unique details on the base of this sturdy dresser lend a slight Art Deco feel to it.  

Both pieces should allow for many years of use as their size and style are suitable for grown ups but can be made fun for a toddler or young child through colourful bedding and playful decorative decor.

farmhouse paneled bed frame

This solid pine double bed frame was a custom request for a client for her little boy's room.  I searched high and low and finally came across this beautiful custom-build which features joinery (no screws or nails) and hand-distressing techniques on the pine.  I refinished it in black latex paint, distressed it to play up the farmhouse character, and sealed it with a water-based varathane.  

I really wanted to keep this gorgeous piece...but apparently little Markus was very excited about his new 'big boy bed', so I couldn't be happier!
